Valuable tricks to knit the pupils to learning , not means of entertainment.
Extremely varied in devices. Not the substitute for the teacher nor the books.
They make appeal to visual/auditory sense. Need proper explanation. Time of use
should be clear to teacher. They save time.
They should be suited to the age intelligence and
experience of pupils. Educational element should not be made subservient to the
dramatic and spectacular element. They should present accurate and authentic
material They should be concise as well as comprehensive. They may be prepared
with the help of students. They should not be overused. Their use should be
constantly evaluated.
Flannel board:
Flannel board Prepared by mounting a flannel
cloth tightly on piece of plywood or hard board. Sand papers are pasted on the
back of the pictures. This makes them stick on the flannel cloth. Various
pictures, maps, sketches, graphs are displayed on it. These can be removed
easily after using it.
The Overhead
Projector:
The Overhead Projector The projected image is obtained
behind and over the head of the instructor. The OHP reflects images coming from
a powerful light that shines through a transparency on a screen by means of
tilted, highly polished mirror and lens assembly. Advantages A large image is
obtained in a minimum projection distance. Permits the instructor to face the
class as he writes. Projected image can be seen in a lighted room also. Simple
and convenient to operate. Low cost.
Charts:

of real things three dimensionally i.e. height , width and depth are felt as
reality. This makes the understanding of the things better and easy. Use of
models become necessary because: The real thing may not be available in that
season or may be away from the school. The real things may be too big or too
small May be too dangerous to be felt or handled Real thing may be too
expensive

sectional Working models Advantages: Heighten reality of things make learning
direct and meaningful Illustrate application side of certain principles and
laws. Explain complex and intricate operations in a simplified way are lasing
